Introduction:

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in 1991, with an intake of 60 students.
Mrs. Ramadevi is heading the department, with 4 Teaching and 4 Non teaching staffs. The Department is backed up with a team of experienced and qualified staff Members.

The Department has well equipped labouratories. The Computer Labs are one of the best among the institutions with latest machines. The Lab provided with all most all necessary softwares. To provide wide exposure the Lab is equipped with Linus and Windows OS machines.

Under the financial assiatance of AICTE, Computer Labs has been upgraded. All the machines are connected with LAN connections end to end.

High speed Internet connections of high band width about 12Mbps are provided for Advanced Computer Labs and students are given plenty of access time to surf the Internet.

Department activities & Achievements:

1. Computer science "TECSA" Association, was started with organizing different programs regarding Carrier Guidance, different competetions,Cultural programs..
2. Educational tour for Final year students were held during December, different industries, Software companies have been visited.
3. A seminar on "Surface computing" was organized from TECSA, Mr. Vasudev shenoy delivered the seminar. All CS students are participated and made the program grand success.
4. A farewell function was organized to Mrs. VANDANA.

Achievements of Staffs:

1. Mrs. Ramadevi attended the workshop on Education, Evaluation and measurement, ISAP Soft skills conducted by NITTTR, Bangalore, conducted at KVGP,Sullia. She also underwent a training on Enterpreneership conducted by KVGCollege of Engg,sponsered program by NITK Surathkal.
2. Mr. Ravishankar attended workshop on Hardware and Trouble shooting at KVG college of Engineering.

Achievements of Students:

• Miss Keerthana Kumari K.L secured distinction with high degree of discipline in all the semesters of CS with remarkable achievement.
• Miss Radhika ranked Distinction & rewarded best outgoing student for all-round talent.
• Miss Preeth attended state level competition in sports and won 2nd prize in 200mtr race and discuss throwheld at Bangalore.
